Apple Store Michigan Avenue, Chicago

About

Apple Fifth Avenue revitalizes its historic plaza by seamlessly blending public life with innovative design. Centered around the iconic restored glass cube, the site now features nine mirrored "Skylenses"—public sculptures that reflect the NYC skyline while funneling natural light into the expanded store below. These lenses include an integrated cooling system, allowing them to serve as functional seating year-round. Inside, a spectacular mirrored stainless-steel staircase and circular lift create a kaleidoscopic entry experience, reflecting the energy of the city. The grand hall below features a world-first "cloud-like" ceiling made of 3D fabric that shifts tones to match natural daylight perfectly. Combined with a discreet, intelligent ventilation system hidden within the stone floor, the space stands as a progressive symbol of Apple’s commitment to art, design, and technology.
