Marble Arch Hill, temporary installation in London

About

The Rotterdam firm MVRDV has unveiled images of the hill it will be raising beside Marble Arch in London, to serve as a vantage point overlooking Oxford Street and Hyde Park. A 25-meter-tall metal scaffold will be covered with plywood, soil, and plants, all to be reused when the structure is dismantled. A winding path will lead visitors to the top of the mound, and from there they will descend into the mound, the bottom of which will be a venue for a variety of events. Marble Arch Hill is to open to the public in July 2021.
