Green Corner Building, Muharraq

The firm headed by Anne Holtrop, based in the Netherlands and Bahrein, has designed this narrow building that will keep part of the art collection of the Shaikh Ebrahim Center for Culture in the city of Muharraq. Two identically sized rooms and a core in between make up the floor plan. The building does not extend back deeply, presenting instead a long main facade and two short sides. The front is executed with structural panels of sand-casted concrete texturized with a strong relief. The shutters and the entrance door are made of molten aluminum, also sand-casted.
