Pierres Blanches Cultural Centre in Saint Jean de Boiseau

About

The French firm headed by Julien Perraud, Benjamin Boré, and Thomas Durant, RAUM, has built this culture facility on Rue des Pierre Blanches in Saint Jean de Boiseau, a city 13 kilometers from Nantes. Combining terracotta, exposed concrete, and wood, the building integrates itself into the context respectfully, seeking to reinforce continuity of the landscape between the south and north parts of the site. The sedate and timeless construction presents very high ceilings and large openings that frame the surroundings. Its composition, volume-wise, pursues a coherent heterogeneity, incorporating lattices into the facades.
