Residential building in Campo de la Verdad, Córdoba

About

The Campo de la Verdad neighborhood faces the monumental area of the city of Córdoba. Reinterpreting tradition with a contemporary language, the building contains fourteen apartments, each with a bathroom, a living-dining-kitchen area, and a bedroom, plus a garage downstairs. Typology protection regulations led to a typological recreation based on massive facades and bright open interiors organized around courtyards, and the project complied with the codes by means of various elements: the hallway as a transition between public and private spheres; a patio with water, vegetation, and an ornamental railing; heavy facades with vertical openings which are adjusted in scale on every side, so that large windows face the Guadalquivir River while smaller ones look inward; and traditional construction systems.
