Bressol school in El Vendrell (Tarragona)

This pre-school – for the 0–3 age group – rises on a 32x39-meter plot in a new growth area of El Vendrell, a municipality in Tarragona province. A work bxd arquitectura —Francesc Buixeda, Maria Barcina y Javier Ivorra—, the building presents classrooms and other facilities in a single level, around a central courtyard. Perimetral patios are partly covered by plant-decked pergolas. The threshold distances imposed by regulations are a cue to situate the patios as extensions of the classrooms.
