About
The German office established in 1985 by Christoph Ingenhoven has completed two skyscrapers flanking Toranomon Hills Tower, one of Tokyo’s tallest buildings, a work of the firm Nihon Sekkei. Using a similar aesthetic the new constructions, respectively, rise 220 meters (containing 54 stories and 550 apartments, each with a balcony) and 185 (36 floors for offices). The plinths of the three high-rises are covered with vegetation arranged in stepped terraces. The new towers are structurally designed to cushion seismic vibrations.
